Samad holds the position of Director – Compliance and is based in Dubai (UAE) office of j. awan & partners.
Samad provides execution and strategic support to the firm through his considerable experience gained over a successful 20 years in Compliance, Risk, Finance and Internal Audit practice. Prior to joining the firm, Samad was the Head of Risk and Controls at Smart Group. He has also supported HSBC on several banking projects and has worked in the Middle East at National Commercial Bank as its Head of Treasury and Head Office assurance. He also delivered several key projects for Qatar National Bank as their principal specialist. Prior to this, he served as an Executive Director with Morgan Stanley, Citibank and a Managing Director for TD Securities in the UK. As a highly knowledgeable and effective leader, Samad delivers excellence through detailed insight and ensuring that businesses meet their strategic, tactical, and operational objectives in a well-controlled manner.
Samad is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), Associate Member of Corporate Treasury (AMCT), holds an Executive MBA (HEC Paris), an MSc in Systems Engineering, and a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Cardiff University).
